Yet another recipe…this is an extremely easy one…no baking, no mixing, no processing…it’s just you, the ingredients and a few essential tools! You will never ever go wrong with this recipe!
A famous Malay sweet/delicacy especially during the Raya.
Ingredients:
¾ tin condensed milk
125g butter
¾ cup milo powder
½ cup cocoa powder
250g marie biscuits (break into small pieces)
Steps:
- Lined a rectangular cake tin or bread mold with cling wrap.
- Melt the butter in a saucepan
- When the butter has all melted, add in all the other ingredients except the biscuits.
- Keep mixing until the mixture is smooth and silky (just like the shampoo ads…huhu)
- Fold in the biscuits until all of them are well coated.
- Lay the biscuits into a rectangular cake tin.
- Refrigerate until firm.
The original recipe calls for 1½ cup Milo powder but it’s a lil’ too sweet for my liking so I subs part of it with cocoa powder, a richer chocolate taste. And by the way I tried to make some variety outta it and I added in a coat of instant oat…smells really nice I think it would be even better to top them with roasted almond chunks.
When serve, cut the batik cake as you would for fruit cake or cut into smaller bite size pieces (in the picture). You may even serve with a lil’ fresh cream, it should taste even better!
