Convocation 16 Aug 09

It’s really amazing Liyen can actually n finally graduated! At last I am officially a graduate with a Bachelor in Chem. Eng….*grin*. The convocation ceremony was a tiring one as it so happened that I was in the morning session while Ricky was in the noon session. I had to wake up at 5am n started our journey to UTP at 6am as we had to be at the academic block by 7am. We had to stay there until Ricky had finally ‘released’ from that boring ceremony,at 5.10 PM, minus the 10 seconds we got our scroll from the chancelor and pro-chansellor. Or did I mention who our Chansellor is? Well well…He’s non other than our dear Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohd. =P…Better not bored you to death listening to the whole process…

Bye Bye MortarBoard!

These few days had a lot of fun and was extremely meaningful having the opportunity to bring my friends and their family around. Most of all the whole convo thingy was so touching…seeing my family members coming to celebrate the big day, sending me gifts, flowers and messages and reminding me that I am always remembered and cared for! Suddenly felt a lil’ emo..Or at least I can feel my parents were kinda proud of me at that moment! huhu… Oh ya…let me take this opportunity to thank all who had present and who had sent their well wishes, thanx for my photographers, voon, laikuan and khinfoong, thanx to my dad who drove me around, thanx to my mum for that cutesy bouquet of bears, thanx to my sis, laikein and munyee for always being there, thanx to Aunty Oilee for that pretty lilies, Thanx to y uncles and aunties who sent their well wishes, thanx to my fellow friends who had supported me all along, thanx to all my lecturers especially Dr Muru, thanx for every single piece of advice and thanx for every bit of challenges that made me grow!!! and now i shall sleep! Nite~

Mummy I Love You!

It has been such a long time since I last updated my bloggie eh…The study week had just gone and the exams weeks are finally here. Well this semester is indeed a leisure period, minus the fyp which progress leads to nowhere, I am only to sit for TWO papers! Are you getting very jealous now? =P but due to this very special day, I had to pen “blog” a few words. MOTHER’S DAY…Although we celebrated on Saturday~ but then spending time with my family, be it short or long, means heaps of treasure to me!

Specially to my Mum, who we call “mah” most of the times, is the greatest! Although her temper’s short and may act like a kid at some point, her goodness is still immeasurable! It’s just too good to have a mum who cooks good food (top priority =P), caring, loving and a good listening ear.

Saturday night we had dinner at Kim Bali a place which serves a wide variety of Asian Food. Food served were not bad at all! And we were smart enough to make booking for the dinner to avoid undesirable long queues and hassles.

Apart from the food, Mum get a nicely wrapped carnation and a special recipe compilation written by the chef of Kim Bali. Wah, indeed a long ads we have here! We had a real great time dining together…

March Babies 2009

March just simply filled up with the joy of the birthday boys and girls…this week alone, we celebrated the birthdays of our dear friends, Kang kang and Fa Fa…hope you guys don’t mind me calling out those rather “affectionate” names! Hahaha…

Being an extreme sweettooth myself I just couldn’t stop staring at cakes and what not, whatever that’s soft, spongy, chocolaty, creamy, pretty, dainty that just simply spell D.E.S.S.E.R.T. . Putting that aside, the joy of sharing those pretty moments indulging them is something I love most!

This time, more on the bday boys and less on the food we’d shared!

Laikuan & Heevoon

Yups…here is the personalize wedding blog for my sis (LaiKuan) my bro-in-law (HeeVoon)

Well, first thing first… HAPPY BDAY MUM… yups… the wedding and mummy bday on the same day i.e. 6th Sept.

LaiKuan & HeeVoon’s wedding day was held at 1-TwentySix, S’pore. This is the first time our family had a garden wedding as all the previous ones are only done the traditional Chinese ceremony. I’m not sure if they are just plain lucky to have both ceremony but the expenses…doubled!!!

Some Pre-wedding ceremony shots at 1-TwentySix

My mengader artistic shots…

Tadaa…

Some pictures of LaiKuan and HeeVoon

The pictures are nice right…but I’m not the photographer responsible for those above and Mr. Photographer, please don’t sue me for copyrights!

Okaylar…must praise a bit…Photographer of the evening was Mr Tey YongHow. His work was just simply amazing and looking at his great spirit for continuing shooting the most memorable moments even while it was raining cats and dogs! More of his work could be viewed in his blog at www.1950photography.blogspot.com . Thumbs up for your great work.

The ceremony was really sweet…from the very moment Dad walked LaiKuan to the Solemnizing area till the very end. Yah…guess the couple were a lil’ upset as it rained quite heavily soon after the toasting. However, the whole event was fantastic and I bet he guests had a great time throughout.

Oh, not forgetting the wedding singer of the night, or rather the wedding band. Love your singing an especially that Adam Sandler song…just the perfect song for the nite!

Grow Old with You

OST: “The Wedding Singer”

Robbie hart (singing):
I wanna make you smile whenever youre sad
Carry you around when your arthritis is bad
All I wanna do is grow old with you

I’ll get your medicine when your tummy aches
Build you a fire if the furnace breaks
Oh it could be so nice, growing old with you

I’ll miss you
I’ll kiss you
Give you my coat when you are cold

I’ll need you
I’ll feed you
Even let ya hold the remote control

So let me do the dishes in our kitchen sink
Put you to bed if youve had too much to drink
I could be the man who grows old with you
I wanna grow old with you

Hopefully there will be more pictures of this couple soon…

Some words for the newly wed…

Dear LaiKuan and HeeVoon,

You both are just simply amazing. I hate to say…LaiKuan you look absolutely stunning that evening. The whole event is simply phenomenal and a big thank you for making me a part of it. Standing at that very corner as your bridesmaid and witness the solemnization so closely, I am so touched that I almost cried. You both make a perfect match, I am very sure of that. And that heavy downpour, I believe those are the shower of blessings…even the heaven wants to be a part of the grand wedding!

My dear LaiKuan and HeeVoon, your union will be forever blessed and abundant life ahead. May you both live happily ever after ~

Love,

Liyen
